Bio

Zach

Dr. Raffensperger was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to attend the University of Pittsburgh earning a degree in Mathematics before moving on to achieve his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, becoming a third-generation dentist. After completing dental school, he went on to specialize as a prosthodontist, which entails a three year residency at the same institution, focused on full mouth rehabilitation, implant dentistry, conventional crown and bridge, cosmetic dentistry, and TMD treatment. Zach moonlighted as a general dentist throughout residency, helping to maintain clinical efficiency in a private dental setting.

After completing his residency, Dr. Raffensperger remains committed to becoming board certified by working to pass a rigorous four-part exam to become a fellow of the American Board of Prosthodontists. Additionally, he is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists and the American Dental Association.

When not busy with teeth, Zach enjoys outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, backpacking, and skiing, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Quotes

The principal aim of prosthetic dentistry is the perpetual preservation of what remains ... rather than the meticulous restoration of that what is missing.
